The Journey of John Hubbard and Atlas Tubular
John Hubbard began his career as a pipe inspector in the OCTG industry, gaining invaluable experience and insights. Seeking new challenges, he transitioned to a career in aviation, becoming a flight instructor and charter pilot. During one of his chartered flights, John’s extensive knowledge of tubular products caught the attention of a company representative, bringing him back to the OCTG industry.
John was recruited to join the company's team and quickly excelled, moving into a sales position. By 1977, armed with sales experience and industry expertise, John took a bold step and founded his own company in Houston, specializing in the sales of OCTG materials.
In 1979, the company relocated its headquarters to Robstown, Texas, just outside Corpus Christi. Since then, Atlas Tubular has flourished into a thriving family business. John’s daughter, Tracey, was the first to join the team, followed by his sons, Jason and Matt. Together, the Hubbard family has built and maintained a strong presence in the industry, ensuring Atlas Tubular remains a leading provider of OCTG and line pipe products.
